Default 52 pilots at the contest!!

I see where the IMAC Nationals had 52 pilots post scores. Sounds like a great contest.

We also had 52 pilots compete at the JR-SCAT Scale Aerobatics Series contest the weekend of July 17th & 18th in Camarillo, California.

The competition was great!! Doug Chronkhite squeaked out a win over Jeremy McKenna by less than 3 points in the Unlimited class. The Advanced class had a first-time winner for the year by just a little more than 10 points. Intermediate was won without winning a single Known round. The pilot flew that well in the Unknown round and was real close in the Known rounds. Sportsman also had a first-time winner for the year by less than 7 points. The Basic Class was won by less than 19 points. Congratulations to all on well deserved wins.

I'm looking forward to the next contest that will also be held at the Channel Island Condors field in Camarillo, California. Another cool weather weekend on the coast of California. The next JR-SCAT Series contest is being held the weekend of August 28th & 29th. My guess is it will be another big contest with great competition.

Everyone is invited. Registration is open for the August 28th & 29th contest. Pre-registration is required and registration will close on Sunday, August 22, 2004. To register for the contest, click on the "Camarillo Entry" button just below the picture of the airplane on this website.

The JR-SCAT sequences can be found on the "Sequences" link on the top of the website above, or you can use this link.

The Unlimited class has a new Known sequence for each contest, so anyone entering Unlimited will have the same month to practice as everyone else.

For directions to the field, click on the "Schedule" link. Then click on the Channel Island Condors graphic to go to the club website for a map to the field. The field is located in Camarillo, California. Expedia, Travelocity, etc can all give you hotel info. All hotels are close to the field. Use the map to see where things are located.

The JR-SCAT Series has wonderful sponsor support that makes the Series possible. At the Pilot's Raffle at the end of the contest, every pilot gets a prize from one of the sponsors. A huge "Thanks" to the sponsors for making it possible.

If you're already a JR-SCAT Series competitor, we'll see you there. If not, come join the fun!!!

Stay cool this summer.

Take care,

Yeah.. I had a good time even though I lost my Ultimate while screwing around on Saturday after the competition flying was over for the day.

I like to call this pic "When Biplanes Attack!"

NOTE: I really haven't moved since the crash.. yes it was that close.
