Schedule it and they will come? North Central IMAC
Looking at trying to host an IMAC event in Central Illinois, Jacksonville/Springfield to be more specific.
The dates given would be May 7 & 8, 2005, one week after the Clinton BRAZIL IMAC Contest.
Now mothers day is the 8th!!!
Joe Nall starts that Wednesday, etc......
How many contestants would be willing to attend such an event?
Thanks for any responses.
Roger

I'd be there, Roger!! The more contests we can get close by, the better!
Hopefully, the plane will run the entire weekend;-(
See you guys next year!!
Gary Hunt
The place I'd love to see one is at the Decatur club.

Here is an email I got from Kurt after emailing him for some dates.
I added all in ITALIC

Hi Roger,
Good to hear from you and happy to hear that you enjoyed flying in the IMAC
contests this season! Great to hear that you want to run an IMAC
contest. This is a great way to get more people flying IMAC in your
area. Try to encourage new pilots to give it a try in the Basic class!
Regarding dates..... This is a VERY difficult issue. If you look at the
IMAC website and review the 2004 contest season (go to the Regions page and
pull down the Contest Reports page) you will see that there was a contest
almost every single weekend in our region - sometimes two contests if they
were far away from each other. (500 miles or more has been my guideline
over the past couple of years)
I have also already received requests for 2 new additional contests from
other contest directors.
A few dates that might be open include:
May 7-8, 2005* (Mothers Day the 8th)
May 14-15, 2005* (People at Joe Nall)
May 21-22, 2005* (My Daughter Graduates College-still have but differnt CD and location)
June 11-12, 2005 (Contest in OHIO)
July 9-10, 2005 (St Charles Big Bird-if they have it??) (Two events where cancelled this weekend last year)
September 3-4, 2005 (Labor Day weekend???)
September 17-18, 2005* (Maybe to late in the year)
I should warn you that all of these dates have also been offered to other
CDs that are trying to either change dates or create a new contest. The
dates with a star will probably be available.
Lets try to stay in communication and let me know if any of these dates
might work. As you might imagine, this is a juggling act for me trying to
satisfy all of the CDs as best I can. I always give priority to contests
that have traditionally had a particular date on the calendar.
I should also mention that Jeff Mueller (organizer of the Roxanna contest)
has asked for two dates next year (if possible). They are pretty close to
you, so you might want to communicate with Jeff.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Kurt
