Great Planes EA 330 Patti Wagstaff 1/4 Scale which engine?
Hi
I just ordered the 1/4 scale Extra 330 "Patti Wagstaff" by Great Planes.[8D]
Does anybody out there have any experience with this model? I am thinking about getting a DA 50 For it.
What do you think?and how does it behave?
Thanks

RE: Great Planes EA 330 Patti Wagstaff 1/4 Scale which engine?
There is alot of info on RC Universe already about this aircraft, just do a search. I have a DA 50 on my Wagstaff and it is a awesome combination. I'm very pleased with the engine, it is very user friendly with great power. The aircraft is the first ARF I have ever owned and extremely impressed with the quality. Great Planes has taken care of all of the initial problems. I did replace some of the hardware and make changes only because I felt more comfortable with my hardware. I strongly recommend installing the Rudder servo under the canopy and using a pull-pull control system as the the C of G will be too far aft. Good Luck

I like my GPPW, it has DA50 for power and flys great. I like it for imac and pattern work. The DA50 is the best engine I have ever owned. Like said, there is a lot of information here in the ARF forum about building and flying the GPPW.

I use mine also for IMAC and to practise Master/Expert pattern, this is the closest IMAC airpalne that I have found that flies like a pattern bird. The reason I use it to practise pattern is that is cheaper on fuel than my Pattern bird which has a Webra 1.6 in it.

Thanks for the info!
I'm sure going to get The DA 50 then.
After what you guys say, I'm really looking forvard to crank it up.
I am plannning to enter the model in some competitions next summer, using the winter to get it assembled
and trimmed out, and do some practising of course[8D]

Hi
What about mufflers, have anybody measured the noise level from the DA?
At my club we have a noise limit at 91 dba measured at 9 feet (three meters). That's
not difficult to get below, but "the quieter the better"
Any recommandations?
And what about soft mounts?
Thanks.
