Would this be legal?
Would it be IMAC legal to use use helium in your plane as to lighten it?
Thanks,
Woops
P.S. I'm not an IMAC pilot, but I want to join when I have time to compete.

If it is legal, its probably not worth the effort. Helium atoms are very small and leak out of things that will hold air. Then it doesn't lift all that much.

Hey Woops - just a suggestion:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! If you are offended by me saying MERRY CHRISTMAS, may God Bless you and Merry Christmas
Doubles the fun.....

You are very correct. They weight of adding a bladder inside the plane to hold the helium would negate any actual weight savings. I have found that unobtainium in gas form has large enough molecules that it won't leak through monokote.

I was planning on taking off the don't sue part and just wishing a merry Christmas starting tomorrow afternoon till after Christmas. I hadn't thought about what to write yet so thanks, I'll use your suggestion.
Back to the topic,
I guess that there wouldn't be a problem with it if I could find a way to do it so that I could save the weight.

Also, Helium is very expensive. But, today is your lucky day! I have two bottles left that I would be willing to part with for say...$999.99 each (that is shipped, of course).
Let me know, I also have a bridge for sale, and some swamp land with a great view.

I just want to say "Happy Holidays"!
I also want to wish you all a "Happy Budda's Birthday"!
If you are offended, you probably voted for the Ayatollah and/or watch a lot of the Fox channel....

See this is what happens when people play with AFP Deluxe, they want a real plane filled with helium like the ones on the sim.
Woops,
If you are more concerned with quick fixes than lot's of practice, competitive aerobatics may not be for you.
