Houston Imac is ready !
Ok gentlemen,
Holidays are over, everyones blown thier new year's diet, and I'm
sure all you guys have a wonderful Valentines suprise for your lady.
There's nothing left to do but to get ready for the Texas Tru Turn
Imac Challenge here in Crosby, Texas(March 11,12). The Prop Nuts RC
Club is proud to host their first Imac event. This will be the
season opener and I'm sure everyone is all ready to get out and get
things started. We have things ready to go or they are in motion.
All we need is pilots.
Sorry about the last minute name change but since we have a sponser
he was a little picky about what we called it. Don't let me down
guys. I promised Bob at TT most of our core Imac guys would be here.
I promise there will be some nice awards.
It's time for all you local Houston guys that have been whining for 4 years about no Imac in the area to get out and fly.
Our website propnuts.com, has map and some hotel information. Here
are the other hotels at the I-10 and Garth Rd. location.

Three of us from Shreveport will be there for sure. I tried to access the map and hotel info on your clubs site and it did not work. Main thing we need is the map to the field...Jonas

Jonas,
Our website was down a few days last week due to a domain problem but has been fixed. So unless you tried it while it was being updated, it shouild be working. Try it again but we will get you directions here for sure.

Guys there is now a pre-registration link on the website. Tag the link to the flyer and you will get there. Doing this will get everyone in the system and really speed things up.
Thanks

RE: Houston Imac is ready !
So who al lis heading towards this shindig??? Bill Higgins used to compile a list of contestants on his site but alas that is gone.
I am hoping to fly Intermediate but have some concerns with the Hanger 9 Extra and a fuji 86 having the vertical i would like to make the maneuvers nice and big to make them smooth. The vertical downline with 1/4 to 3/4 can use up a lot of altitude quickly.
Anyways.. curious who is going to be ther and if i should just park myself in sportsman one more contest and gie myself the time to install the 3w100 i bought for it.
Lets pick up the chatter .. first contest in the Southwest, and in Houston.. no one else but 3 guys are excited????
Chuck...
i would talk trash but dont know anyone in IMAC that is in my class (grin).

I'll add him to the update tomorrow. I think we will also have the Weisinger youngster from our neighboring club in the intermediate group. I haven't heard from he or his dad but I think they are coming. He's an accomplished pilot in the pattern venue who's going to mix it up with the Imac group a little bit.

RE: Houston Imac is ready !
Brett.. if you read this , i hope you are flying advanced (grin)
I hope to make it guys, trying to maiden(for me) the plane this weekend and dial it in some.
My concern is the motor package. It is a bt-86 in a hangar 9 extra no ignition. I have just recieved a 3w100 so that might take it place if it does not perform well but dont know if i have the time to get er dun!
Hopefully i will have the vertical i am looking for and can make it through these next couple of weeks the way it is.

I'm not going to be able to make it due to a school trip to the Grand Canyon (next week is spring break). Would love to be there, sorry guys!
Chuck -- too bad, I'm flying intermediate . You'll see me at Jetero's IMAC event.

RE: Houston Imac is ready !
Well, at least it will give me a chance to learn some of the maneuvers. Sorry to hear you wont make it but a trip to the grand canyon sounds fun.. esp with with a groups of friends. Drop in on DA while you are in the area.. holler at huffmeister and try to snap the new 260 eh?!?!?!?
Arent you flying a carden extra right now that you got finished up near the end of last year?? hopefully i will be more prepared for the jetero meet. I was...was... going to try and trim today, got things together.. pager goes off.. the mine dumped a fire suppression system and guess who gets to go fix it... 8 hours later i am at home, worn out and hoping to morrow proves to be better luck.
Later.. see you soon Brett and have fun.

Yup, extra is in the air and flying great. I'm really looking forward to the trip to the grand canyon but wish I could make this event. I'll probably only be going to one IMAC event this year, which kind of bums me out.

RE: Houston Imac is ready !
Brett, let sthe days go by and see what happens eh.... i flew my extra yesterday with the 86 on it... good solid upslines but when you throw a snap it ther it kills any momentum, i have concerns about that maneuver. OTherwise, she flew well, i am considering throwing the 100 in it mon and tuesday and test running it but we will see what bolt patterns look like and what else i have to adjust.
enjoy the G.C. and will talk and hopefully see you soon.
