RE: Nats Results
Tony,
The unknown only accounts for 20% of the total score for the pilots.
Spt, Int, Unl; 400/2000 = .20 (no dropped knowns)
Adv; 600/3000 = .20 (1 dropped known)
That is the formula IMAC uses for the NATS.
Regards,
Anna

Which is basically the same as a normal contest with 6 scored Knowns, drop two and keep the Unknown. Each Known and the Unknown becomes worth 20% of the total.
I also noticed that the turnout was way down this year. 52 pilots versus over a 100 last year. I guess the high gas prices are taking their toll!!

RE: Nats Results
I have looked online but I can only find the results of the 2005 IMAC Nats(IMAC Website), and the 2006 daily reports.
Is there anyplace that you can see the results of IMAC Nationals prior to 2005?

RE: Nats Results
Ohhhh..... geez I need to adjust my reading glasses. :-)
Best bet is to e-mail Roy Barrow, IMAC Secretary, at [email protected] to see if IMAC Hq has records archived.
AMA Hq may also be able to help for the Scale Aerobatic NATS that where held in Muncie.
IMAC has not been associated with the AMA NATS for very many years. Not sure of the exact time frame but it was not until 1999-2001 time frame before there was a Scale Aerobatics NATS at Muncie.
We need one of the longer time IMAC members to jump in and give us a history lesson.

RE: Nats Results
It would be cool if it was published somewhere all the way back to the begining. I like looking back and seeing the top level unlimited pilots results from when they competed in the lower classes it gives me hope...LOL

RE: Nats Results
Hello,
Nice article Wayne. I wish I could have been there. Next year for sure. I wanted to throw out some congrads to some of the guys. First Stephen Hamilton for winning the Advance class, 3rd in Freestyle and the Bennett Cup. From what I heard from some of the other contestants Stephen was throwing down some excellent flights. Next Ryan G. for a strong 3rd in the Advance class. Ryan is a first class guy and I had a blast hanging with him at Joe Nall. Next our local Tampa Sportsmans pilots Dave Link earning a 6th in sportsman in his very first Nats.
It was great to see you guys doing well and having a great time. I look forward to meeting up again at the field for some flights and grilling burgers.
