Default servos

Does anyone have any experience with Hitec servos in 35% or larger planes?

Most everyone seems to use the JR 8411 servos, or at least they are the most vocal. If this is not a new question, could you forward me on to any old discussions?

Thanks
Jack

I have had a very positive experience with Hitec's in my 25% stuff, and i am aure the 5945's would be great in the 35-40% stuff too, but once you are paying that much I guess I would go 8411. currently I am paying half for the 5625/5645 series and thats enough dfor my plane size.

I have been using HiTech digitals exclusively in my 40% and larger planes for 2 years now. Very few problems (2 burnt out amplifiers) and no real issues of any sort. I prefer them, the 5945's and 5735's over anything any competitor makes, and the programmability makes them a very versatile line of servos.

Default 5945's

I have also been using the Hitec digitals for two years. I have had good luck with them as well. I have used them in 3 different 35% planes. I had one 5735 I sent in for replacement - bad motor, but thats the only negative experience I've had. I rebuilt a set of 5945's with new gear sets but that was after 300 some flights - ANY metal gear servo will wear gears.

I currently run one per ail, one per elevator half, and two in a push - pull for rudder on my 35% radiocraft.

on a 1/3 scale Staudacher I run one per ail, one each elevator, and one 5735 pull-pull on rudder

I even run two 5945's and two 5925's on my focus pattern plane.

I feel that they are every bit as good as the 8411, but that has been a widely debated comparison by those that are loyal to both brands.

my .02 cents
