Piedmont IMAC 2007

Overall, there were 38 pilots flying in the Piedmont IMAC 2007 contest. In no particular order they were: Alex Porter, Josh Bunn, Ty Lyman, Wayne Mathews, Kevin Dixon, Craig Baker, Alan Anderson, Matt Richards, David Stewart, Mark McClellan, Jon Gurley, Jeffrey Carte, John Kasprak, Robert Waltz, Gene Poremba, Don Martin, Tony Hawkins, Richard Irvine, Tony Gorgone, Terry Hickey, Jarred Esau, Phil Ross, Doran Bouchard, Mike Vickrey, Shane Caison, Evan Powell, Lloyd Harring, Adam Ranck, Primo Rivera, James Taylor, Brandon Johnson, Jerry Holt, Brain Foveaux, Paul Bayrum, Charles Zavalney, Carl Zavalney, Cameron Byrd and Philip Thornton.

These pilots flew a grand total of 520 judged sequences.

Jarred Esau won Basic. There were 18 pilots in Basic. The winning order was: (1) Jarred Esau, (2) Jon Gurley, (3) Primo Rivera, (4) Cameron Byrd, (5) Paul Bayrum, (6) Gene Poremba, (7) Charles Zavalney, (8) John Kasprak, (9) Mike Vickrey, (10) Phil Ross, (11) Lloyd Harring, (12) Alan Anderson, (13) Brandon Johnson, (14) Doran Bouchard, (15) James Taylor, (16) Shane Caison, (17) Evan Powell and (18) Robert Waltz. They flew 7 known sequences (4 rounds). The scores ranged from a low of 2,722.8 to a high of 4,975.0 (a range of 2,252.1 points).

Richard Irvine won Sportsman. There were 9 pilots in Sportsman. The winning order was: (1) Richard Irvine, (2) Jeffrey Carte, (3) Tony Gorgone, (4) Josh Bunn, (5) Alex Porter, (6) Matt Richards, (7) Carl Zavalney, (8) Don Martin and (9) Terry Hickey. They flew 6 known sequences (3 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 4,024.6 to a high of 4,997.9 (a range of 973.4 points).

David Stewart won Intermediate. There were 4 pilots in Intermediate. The winning order was: (1) David Stewart, (2) Kevin Dixon, (3) Philip Thornton and (4) Jerry Holt. They flew 6 known sequences (3 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 3,702.4 to a high of 4,933.2 (a range of 1,230.8 points).

Brain Foveaux won Advanced. There were 2 pilots in Advanced. The winning order was: (1) Brain Foveaux and (2) Craig Baker. They flew 6 known sequences (3 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 4,903.8 to a high of 5,000.0 (a range of 96.2 points).

Wayne Mathews won Unlimited. There were 4 pilots in Unlimited. The winning order was: (1) Wayne Mathews, (2) Ty Lyman, (3) Adam Ranck and (4) Mark McClellan. They flew 6 known sequences (3 rounds) and 1 unknown round. The scores ranged from a low of 4,324.4 to a high of 4,861.9 (a range of 537.5 points).

Adam Ranck won Freestyle. There were 4 pilots in Freestyle. The winning order was: (1) Adam Ranck, (2) Matt Richards, (3) Alex Porter and (4) Charles Zavalney. They flew 1 freestyle round. The scores ranged from a low of 663.1 to a high of 1,000.0 (a range of 336.9 points).

The tightest competition was for 8th place in the Basic class, with only 0.3 points difference between John Kasprak and Mike Vickrey.
