    a good 75" Sukhoi or Yak to start practising IMAC

    Hello!


    I am new to IMAC. I tried to find a thread on Yaks or Sukhois of 75" (or so) wing span used in IMAC. I did not find any so I ask for your advice.

    Related to this, someone told that TBM is selling Yaks that fit better to 3D and not IMAC but then again, this maybe applicable just for certain manufacturers.

    Anyways, I want to use a Laser 240-v glow engine that fits nicely into radial cowlings. It's a very smooth running engine and it should turn a 20*8 7400 rpm or a 18*8 8400 rpm. (some say 18*11 800 rpm and 20*6 9000 rpm) The weight of the engine is about 1230 grams or 43,4 oz with the mufflers.

    So any thoughts for a good IMACpractising plane with radial cowling?

    So far I have found the following alternatives:

    Peak Model 71" Yak 54 (maybe the engine is a bit overkill)
    Peak Model 71" Su-29 (maybe the engine is a bit overkill)


    Aeroworks 72" Yak 54
    Magic Hand 73" Yak 54

    Any Sukhois? I haven't find any in this size? Well Sebart Su-29 1.40 but I guess it's more a 3D machine

    Sig Mfg. still has their Sukhoi and it's about 77" span.

    I guess I have to have a closer look at the the Pilot RC's Yak 54:


    It seems to be even more expensive than Aeroworks Yak that according to what I have read should be good but expensive.

    Is the Pilot Rc Yak 26% well worth the money?

    The other thing, is it available in Europe?

    As for the SIG Sukhoi, it's a very interesting alternative but can't find any specs for the weight??! Any idea?

    P.S. Havenn't already studied how a plane is judged IMAC legal but it's also something I have to take into account, right?

    IMAC Legal means that everything has to be within 10% of a full-scale aerobatic aircraft. In Basic, you can literally fly anything you want. For advanced levels, you do need to worry about IMAC-Legal airframes.

    Have you ever seen the 10% rule enforced? I've only been to a few contests in a limited area, but given what I've seen other guys flying, and so on, I suspect that rule is largely ignored, it's more of a "has to look vagely plausable" from what I've seen.

    So I'm curious if it's enforced more tightly elsewhere?
