JF-120 Glow Plug
Whats the best glow plug for the 30lb Eagle. I had a bad plug yesterday and tried several others I had on hand but am now getting inconsistent starts- sometimes the gas is not igniting.

We ship every turbine with McCoy 9 plugs. Rossi 8 is also a good plug to use however the Rossi requires the operator to increase the glow plug power to between 40 and 44. McCoy 9 glow plug setting should be 28 +- 3 points either way.
We are currently testing the Merlin glow plug.
What is important, is the stretching of the element. When stretched out or pulled out correctly, you should have two equal appearing butterfly wings. Nicrome wire should not touch. If so, plug life is shortened quickly. I recommend you perform a glow plug test (always outside the turbine) when installing any new plug or testing a current plug. You are looking for a steady bright glow on the element OUTSIDE the plug body.
