Propeller RPM's in the Turboprop
I just installed a Turboprop turbine in a Composite Arf Tucano and I was wondering if there's any way to increase the propeller RPM's through change in the parameters of the turbine. The airplane is heavy and some extra power would be more than welcome.
I'm currently using a 25 x 12 propeller and I was wondering if going to a 24 x 12 propeller would also help. The propeller is a Biela and I'm planing to try a Mezlij because I think these ones have a better performance.

Hola Gonzalo
You can go to 24 X 12 and it will spin faster and the temp also will go down a little but the static thrust will be more or less the same, you can't change anything in the parameters to increase power
But don't worry about the weight, here we lost more than 30% of power and the plane also have 30% less lift and it still fly great

RE: Propeller RPM's in the Turboprop
Hola Gonzalo:
All testing in the field with our Jet Central turbo prop and the Comp-ARF Tucano was done by Ray Labonte. Ray determined his Tucano flew best on the 24X12 three blade Biela propellor. This propellor performed better than all other combinations tried.
Ray flew his Tucano for over a year without issue (twice at Top Gun) and once at Jet Power Germany where it performed beautifully. We purchased Ray's Tucano and it now is hangared in Mexico City.
Remember, the Tucano is BIG, HEAVY and is not intended to fly fast. . .it is intended to be flown scale. If flown in a scale manner, it will do any maneuvers the Brazilian Tucano is known for.
Enjoy,
Eric Clapp

Eric:
Thanks for replying. I will try the 24 x 12 and see how it goes.
I'm not really looking for more speed..... I'm looking for more power (torque) for certain maneuvers.
By the way, the turboprop turbine starts great...... very smooth. I'm very happy with it.
