If internal element burns out or quits working it has to go to Eric. As explained to me when i posed the same question, Eric told me that it goes to factory and they have 1 day turnaround on element.

Thanks

RAP, Ithink you need to look at a different brand, all you do is slam Jet Central and Eric, NOONEis taking your posts seriously anymore at this point. You obviously just want to make negative posts in this forum and there is no need to junk it up with such. Just buy a different brand already and harass them for awhile!

BTW, once you get some experience flying jets at events, local flying field, etc. you'll soon realize that there are hundreds of things that will ground you. Air leaks, electrical issues, undercarriage, linkage.................... the chances of the glow element being your cause of missing flights is pretty low - and if so, it's the price of playing poker

Rapptor, I do pick tomatoes! how did you know?
First, a blown glow plug does not ground you. If you have access to the back of the turbine you can still light it by using a lighter (not that i am suggesting this, just the ability to do so).
Yes, there are things that I don't care for about some turbines, or there practices. However, there are several good brands out there and you have many good choices as such.

I myself just purchased a Rabbit. I don't like the fact that if the element burns out that I have to send turbine to Jet Central. However, I think there are more positive elements to this turbine then negative. If the element burns out a lot, then I may rethink my stance on this. However most if not all the rabbit owners out there have had great exp. with there turbines.

Huh? I can't understand most of that post....... I wish Icould read minds, it would've made that post a lot easier to read.

The "opinions" and "polls" you speak of are traditionally handled in the general forum, not the user-geared Turbine Clinic. This is not the appropriate place to tell a manufacturer that you think their design is "stupid."

You said a few weeks ago that looking at the turbine wheel of a bee made you decide what brand to buy, then you just said that again because of the internal glow of the rabbit? I think that is your favorite line to say.

NOONECARES if you decide to go with another brand - JUSTDOIT and quit talking about it. Since you have been flying turbines for 9 years, Iwould just go with what has worked for you so far or whatever brand all your flying buddies are flying

To be honest, I am reading and responding to your posts because it is fun! Iguess the guy you saw today with the bee didn't have an extra glow plug? That condition takes about 2 minutes to rectify so maybe if he sat in the sun all day he didn't have an extra plug and just wanted to catch some sun? I'm sure you could've helped him? In your 9 years of turbine flying I'm sure you have blown and replaced a plug right? Also, your experience should tell you that just because it ran at the factory doesn't mean that a plug element is not going to seperate or go bad when it gets back to you right? (Anytime Ihave received a motor from Eric or the factory the glow hole has had a piece of tape over it and the glow plug was not installed but included with a cap over it) Regardless, replacing a glow plug is an end user servicable item that only keeps you down if you don't carry extras. Idon't carry extras anymore because Ihave................get ready........... INTERNALGLOW!
I know, Iknow...... it will go bad and then I'll be sitting in the sun, then I'll send it in, then it will be on the UPS truck and not in my plane
Until then, I'm just gonna keep flying, OK? I'll post RIGHTHEREwhen something does go wrong though, OK?

Idon't think anyone here is trying to say Jet Central turbines don't have any problems?!?!? EVERYSINGLEBRANDthat gets FLIGHTTIMEdoes. It just seems like you may be a hard customer to deal with, so Iwould like to refer you to a different brand so you don't bog down my people! They (Eric, Juan &Felipe) have turbines to make and skunkworks to further.

My Rabbit was born around July 1st.
Ihave 13.5 hours on it and about 75 flights.
Iwill let everyone know when the internal glow element fails.
Ithink the design is very smart - certainly not stupid - can't wait until the whole line has that feature.

Something could go wrong at any time with any turbine engine. (or the weather, or my schedule) That's why Ireally rack up the flights when Ican.

Idon't understand! (new plugs every run?!?!?!)I'm so confused!

I'M OUT DUDE!

Good luck Eric et al, hopefully he'll buy (or at least talk about) some other brand - although Idon't wish this on my buddies in the Jetcat forum either!

Yeah, if you read all the post I am pretty sure JC replaced that turbine...not repaired it. He hooked it up, it let some smoke out and never could get it to light or if he did it was very inconsitent. IF this is not the post, then it must be another one.

Do you even own a Jet Central Turbine?

If you don't, why are you crying about the crappy service, unreliable turbines that Jet Central is putting out?

There is not a turbine mfg. out there that somebody has had crappy service from or a new turbine that has failed to function right form the get go. They are all subject to failures at anypoint.

My first bee was spitting and sputtering at idle. I sent it in and they checked it out. I got it back and it still did it. After a few emails and phone converstations they just sent me a new one and I sent this one back in. Ever since then, I have had great luck with them and great service. This is just me.

I know there are those out there (just like my first bee) that have had bad luck with them and bad service. However, in the end my problem was taking care of and I am still a JC customer.

If the glow element fails...just take a standard spark plug out of a G-62 and mount it in the tail pipe.

Hook that up to a claymore clacker and let her rip!

It works for me anyway...
