ECU Low Voltage
I have a Rabbit 90 that was updated to a V10 ECU. I was getting a low voltage warning that blocks the start after just a couple of runs. My Battery was an 8 year old 7.4 LiMn, so I thought I'd get a new 9.9V battery. I changed the setting in the Start menu to Life 9.9v.
With my battery charged, reading 10.2V on the screen prior to initiating the start, I still get the low voltage warning. Could something be drawing down the voltage? Is the 7.4, 9.9V setting only for the Low Voltage warning, or does it affect something else? |
HI Todd,
I will pass your question to the factory, to find out what is the issue. Can you create a short video or send me pictures in private message or email [email protected] That will help us to see your set up and find out faster the solution. Thank you Manny Rodriguez JetCentralUSA |
I should add that my Rabbit has a propane start. As long as I have the new ECU is that an issue with 9.9V?

Hello Todd
Changing from 7.4 to 9.9 affects mostly everything to manage the extra voltage If you are getting the low voltage reading means the battery is not capable of holding the minimum voltage during the hihg amp. draw of the start up check how low your battery gets during a start up Is the 10.2 v reading from the ECU or is from annother system? |
The voltage reading was on the ECU, but not during the start. I guess I'll watch it to see what it reads as I initiate the start. I can also place a Wattmeter in line with the battery to see what kind of current is being drawn.
I saw some older posts that indicate the ceramic igniter can draw quite a bit of current. Mine is set for 8V, which seems kind of high since they start at 5.5V in the manual? I have a 4500 mah 9.9 Life that I would think could handle the normal current. |
Hi Todd,
We are checking the video that you sent me via email. I will get back to you via email ASAP. Thank you Manny JetCentral USA |
