Default P-180 Glow plug boss

I'm helping out a friend with his older P-180. He had to remove the glow plug and noticed it unscrewed very hard. Once he got it out, the boss that it was screwed into (I think the combustor) kind of shifted backward. In the photo you can see that it is now 1/2 hole out of alignment.
I suspect there is an internal problem?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

You can try moving the chamber forward with something that will not damage the threads; but if it takes excessive force to make it move, it will have to come in.

OOPS sorry George, I did not know you were the "official" guy now, best of luck! Great for JetCat customers.

Cool, well all I said was that for some reason, I saw this issue mostly with P-200's (a close cousin to the P-180). If you can get the glow plug in without stripping it, then you are fine. In other words it is not indicative of other damage, just a wonky alignment of the internal threaded boss.

I'm very happy for the responses and will try either a dowel or maybe an aluminum shaft to see if it moves, then report back.
