180RXi electronics to 220RXi swap
Hi, I'm new here.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I live in Uruguay, South America and it's not easy to get stuff here.
The plane of a friend of mine crushed on Sunday and caught on fire. Nothing left! The plane was equipped with a 220RXi turbine. Obviously everything thats not metal got burned.
The question is...is it possible to use the electronics of a 180RXi with some adjustments to recover a 220RXi?
Or does someone know where I could get new spareparts for it?
We don't have any JetCat service in the region.
Regards and thanks!
Fernando.

Hello
Any RX-RXi turbine using V10 Ecu will auto update to type of turbine. There are software versions, so caution is needed if you know an ECU is very old ( could be ) 9 years old.
But 180 RXi to 220 Rxi should not be an issue-but what do you mean recover?

I want to use the internal electronics of the 180 RXi in the 220RXi, not only the ECU.
I mean recover..because the 220 was burned in the crash. I'm planning to change bearings, use the 180 electronics (if possible) and try to make it work again.
Sounds too crazy??

Ah! No, impossible. Completely different electronics on the front board, different starter system, also I would not try and change bearings, the 220 has specific requirements on spacers. If you want it rebuilt send to either US or Germany
