P80 start
Mr. Matt,
I have a P80 and it is starting to start on the secound spool up. Is this a problem? The engine has 19.5 hours on it? It has just started doing this. Thanks Gerry

RE: P80 start
Hi Gerry,
First it is not a problem (other than an annoyance) . Have you changed the glow plug recently?
JetCats start so well (for so long) that we forget the glow plug can degrade over time but still work.
Try a new NovaRossi and set the voltage high and limit the starting gas percentage (so the mixture will not get too rich) and you should have quick starts!
Let me know how it goes,
Regards,

I finally checked the plug after reading this, and it just wasn't glowing like it should. I swapped it out, and BAM! It's starting at the first CLICK of the solenoid. Oh, that's a great feeling! It's running like the first day I bought it. I will have to let the other guys at my field know that they can't forget about the glow plug.
By the way, I set the voltage down to 2.25 and the gas flow down to 10%. Not bad! I wish my car was that efficient!
Much appreciated!!!
