Solenoids
I changed an older (big) solenoid for a new smaller one.
Is there a difference in these ?
Now I connect the power to the ECU and with the receiver OFF the solenoid "clicks" when connecting batt to ECU. It never did this before.
Does this mean its powered even with the Receiver off ? Does it use up ECU battery?
Thanks

RE: Solenoids
There is an idle current use from the ECU even when not operating, its basically in failsafe mode, when you leave the turbine in a non operating condition always dissconect the battery.

RE: Solenoids
Hello,
Neither solenoid should be powered with the RX off.
There is a test menu, you can actuate each of the solenoids.
My guess is that you have the new one plugged into the wrong port and it is getting power all of the time. Triple check that the solenoids are plugged in correctly and then run the tests via the ECU.
Let me know how it goes,

RE: Solenoids
Mr Matt,
the test menu is correct the solenoids "click" open and close.
and this is exactly what happens to the propane valve- clicks open and close- when I connect the battery with the receiver off.
its all plugged in properly and there is no problem with the turbine runs OK.
I just dont understand that there is some sort of activation on ECU when receiver is switched off and hence it might drain the ECU battery.
the old solenoid did not do this.
Thanks

RE: Solenoids
there is a circuit that provides power to the ECU for a very short time when the battery is first plugged in, it's there so if you have the throttle or aux channel plugged into the propane port it'll power on the ECU without the necessity of a receiver, after say 1/2 a second you shouldn't hear any clicking from the solenoids.
