A123's are the way to go, for both the ECU and the Rx packs, no need for regulators or PowerBox's just plug them straight into the Rx.

If you're ECU isn't setup (modified) for A123s you can burn it up, i use LiMg, one pack will fly all day no problem.

Hi Guys, how come no one uses Nicads is there a reason? I know they are heavey but if the batterys drain they drain slowly not like other batterys where
once they go its Zap & you have got nothing? Am I correct in this or not? Thanks.

I used NiCd for years but swapped to LiMg because i don't have to charge them at the flying field.

I use LImanganese also. You can fly the whole day with
them.

I still use Nicads. I needed the weight and used what I already had on hand. My next batteries will probably be A123's.

Lipo's. You can use inexpensive 10C or 15C types. A123's or LiMg probably a little safer.

It is getting hard to find NiCads due to RoHS requirements
