P300 RX poping at Idle

Hi just installed a P-300RX which came back from service, at Start up I get plenty of flames and at Idle there is quite a bit of poping , any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am using diesel,

Thanks in Advance

Did you do a full power run? Its gone back into an airframe it was in before, where its didn't 'pop' in the tail pipe? It was always run on Diesel?

Hi Dave, thanks for nthe quick reply,
1. Yes I did a full power run up and no problems it accelerates just fine and reaches 104000 rpms
2. no it is not in the same airframe gap at pipe is 1 inch approx. 25 mm
3. no previously I ran on Kerosene
thanks

OK. Gap is too small. What dia pipe? If it’s around 105mm the gap should be 40-45mm

Hi Dave, the Diameter on the pipe is 100mm, Today I will try to move turbine forward and also try kerosene before I move it.
I have heard that some Jet Cat Turbines do no run good on diesel is correct ?

Once again thank you,

J.C.

I’ve never used Diesel, I thought only the smaller turbines were fussy on fuel. Gap will add a bunch of power and should help on the air popping

Hi Dave, tried kerosene and poping improved 90 % , I then moved the turbine as you suggested poping is still the same with 90 % improvement, I also tried the diesel again and poping returned.
Going to run it on kerosene .

Once again thanks for all your help

Hi , Why do you suggest getting a new pump? reason I ask is a new pump here in the US is $499. and if that does not fix problem its not returnable I don't mind spending the $499 just want to be sure this solves the problem.

Thanks for the input
J.C.
