Jett 50 carb adjustment
I had stripped the pinch bolt nut and my carb was falling out so I called Dub and he was kind enough to send a new nut. So as I was setting it up after securing the carb I noticed that the barrel does not center in the bore when at full throttle. It is slightly over rotated and skewed to the side. I tried adjusting the set bolt but it is still not lined up exactly. Is this common/normal?
Thanks, Terry

Hi Bob,
Yes the Barrel retaining screw is what I called the set bolt. I did notice that the end of the retaining screw is not perfectly round but more oval shaped. I assumed that it was that way intentionally to allow some adjustment, but even with it set to the widest point, the barrel is still slightly off center. It may be that the end of the screw is worn but it doesn't look that way and the engine doesn't really have all that many flights on it. Less than a hundred I would say.
Also, Does Dub make a venturi that fits this case? I have pondered the idea of running one since I mainly run wide open and would like the tighter clearance.
Thanks, Terry

Hiya...
Any good "hot" plug will work good. Merlin HD is my preference. But also the Hangar 9 performance plugs work well, Rossi 3, and there are others that work ok too. The old K&B-1L is still the baseline.
