Why is this sj60lx able to sustain 18k on 10x6 or will it.
other engines can't,,,,,sounds like timeing!!!
Maybe a 90 then.
Most pipes will only get you just a grand. Why is this so much higher.

first, there is no substitute for displacement
Displacement helps with torque quite a bit.

Second - there are no compromises in Jett products. They simply outperform most others on the market. Every one of them is built to order, hand assembled, and test run by Dub himself before it ever leaves the shop.

The 60LX is a step above what the SJ-50 is capable of by about 500-600 rpm on the 10" props, and a great deal more on the 9" props. The engine does have the higher 60LX timing (as opposed to the standard 60L "low rpm " timing) - and includes the SS muffler to support the higher RPM range. Some other refinements to engine fit and piston/porting help too. It performs in about the same rpm band the 428 Q-500 engine does with the Q-500 props, but also has the torque to swing the heavier 10x6 and 10x7 blades. Except the 60LX will transition, idle and is much more user friendly than the race engine.
