DX8 Buddy Box Problem
I have a problem when using my DX8 as the master and other Spektrum transmitters as the slave on a buddy box setup. While flying my electric planes what happens is as soon as the throttle is advanced on the slave transmitter the motor spins up just fine. The problem comes when the throttle is decreased to any position lower than approximately 20% the ESC keeps the motor spinning to that 20% level. When the master transmitter is engaged the motor still spins at the 20% power level no matter if the master throttle is set to 0% or not. The only way to stop the motor from spinning is to remove the battery. When the battery is replaced the DX8 throttle works correctly again until the slave takes control and the problem returns. I am using an AR7000 receiver and have not tried any other receiver models although I have tried a couple of different AR7000 receivers with the same results. I have reviewed this forum and can find no one experiencing a similar problem. I might add that the DX8 controls the airplane just fine when used by itself until I hook it up in the buddy box scenario.
I have not contacted Horizon yet about this problem but would first like your input should anyone have had a similar experience.

It sounds to me like a problem in the ESC.
What ESC are you using?
You may want to change from ESC to servo initially, and then adjust the slave radio so that the throttle servo doesn't move at low or high position on both tx's when you switch back and forth.

RE: DX8 Buddy Box Problem
I'm using the Castle Phoenix ICE 100 ESC.
I'm not familiar with what you are saying when you suggest to change from ESC to servo initially, I'm not to literate at this stuff so you may need to explain a little more clearly to me.
I do appreciate your willingness to help me!
