Throttle subtrim
I replaced my ESC recently and had to use the DX8 throttle subtrim so that the prop would stop at zero throttle. Easy to do.
What about subtrim for high throttle? How would you test to see if the high throttle setting was in fact 100%?

RE: Throttle subtrim
Do you mean the trim lever next to the throttle stick? If so thats not sub-trim thats trim.
Trim doesn't have any effect after half stick on the throttle channel, its designed to tweak the idle on fuel motors.
Also, some speed controllers let you calibrate the throttle channel so that you're using the full stick throw and getting full throttle, might want to check into the manual for yours.

RE: Throttle subtrim
Sometimes if I suspect the high throttle end point doesn't seem right, I'll go to throttle servo travel, crank the plane up to full throttle. Run the travel towards the high point. If it gains RPM I'll keep going till there is no more gain, then back up to the point where gain stopped. If there is no gain, lower the throttle endpoint till you hear the motor slow down, then go back up till to the point where the the rpm doesn't gain any more. This will give more linearity for the whole throttle range. Don't know if this is the proper method, but it works for me. Wadya think Andy, did I mess up.

Maybe.
You won't hear an RPM change (and may not even tach one) between full power and almost-full. Make sure you have about 5% overtravel (ie, you need to be able to detect the change at about 95% throttle).
Hope that helps.
Or, you can just use your ESC with the radio doing the default 1.1-1.9ms ("100%" in JR & Spektrum radios). Most ESCs support that range automatically.
