Is there a time limit for free DSMX conversion?
Was/is there a time limit to get the free conversion to DSMX?
The radio in question was bought at the time DSMX came out.

hmmm..... IIRC a radio purchased after Nov. 1, 2010 qualified for a free update. I'm a bit fuzzy on that as it wasn't the same date for all radios e.g. the X9503 I believe was a different purchase date.
Why don't you call Horizon and ask? If you've got a dated sales receipt from an authorized vendor within the applicable dates, I'd think they would still do it for you.

Is it worth doing it regardless? My club just sent out a note saying they think people are having issues with DSM/DSM2 and are recommending everyone get upgraded. I thought DSMx was only needed if you were flying at very crowded contests with lots of people flying at the same time??
