Default AR10000 Receiver Bind Problem

I just got a brand new AR10000 receiver direct from Horizon. When I try to bind the RX to my 12x it won't give me any flashing lights except for a few faint flashes when the battery contact initially touches the rx pins. I have tried three different batteries, making sure each was charged. I also used all three batteries and the same plug to test-bind an AR7000 to my 12x and it worked just fine. I tried two different bind plugs as well. Transmitter is off. Transmitter has DSMx mod.

I have attached a pic showing the rx under power with a bind plug. Nothing is happening (save for the few faint flashes as mentioned above).

Any suggestions? Did I get a lemon?

Move the bind plug vertically. It looks like your on the bottom row, you should be on the top.

It's hard to tell because the rx is labeled on both sides.
