Default Transferring programs from a 9503 to an 11X

Is there a way of doing this?
Really hate the idea of having to do all the programming all over again.Just did it last season when I went from a 9303 to the 9503....

Nope.

The numbers will get you in the vacinity but the 11x uses its own data format so you can't just blow them over with a trainer cord.

That really sucks.
I'll tell ya, I've been a diehard JR fan for more than 20 years and am heavily invested in it, but it's this kind of stuff that lately has made me start to wonder whether or not I should start getting rid of my JR equipment and making the switch...

After all, these are not bottom of the line radios and they should be a little more user friendly/adaptable.
Not being very knowledgeable in electronics or hardware/software I would still think in this day and age they should be able to come up with some kind of data migration software that allows you to upload the programming from one radio to a computer, converts the programming to the other radios architecture and then lets you download it to the other radio.

I have over 20 planes programmed into this radio. This is now going to be a few days work to get the programming done.

I'm extremely disappointed to say the least

On the bright side, you're going to love that radio

I was in the same boat, it really doesn't take all that long though.

Oh it'll take at least 2-3 evenings of putting planes together setting them up and putting them back.
Or I can go thru what I went thru last year when I got the 9503. Set one or two planes up right away then in the spring when I show up at the flying field with different planes and have forgotten I have to re-program everything P*#$ and Moan because I have to then spend 10-15 minutes binding and setting up before I can fly each one of them.
Of course I will have put the planes together fueled them up turned them on ready to fly only to see they're not bound and THEN remember I have to program......

You CAN just copy the numbers from one radio to the other. No need to pull the aircraft out to the bench. That will put you close enough, all you will need is apre-flight and a trim flight at the field. Will take you all of one evening and the normal pre-flight you should be doing anyway.

I've done it myself between a 7202, 8103, 9303, 10X and 12X

Have to rebind everything.
You're right in that should be able to copy everything over and be fairly close, but seriously,
$700 for a radio and you can't copy over programming from another radio from the same manufacturer?
I think you can with Futaba

Curious, after a year why did you have to upgrade?
Why would you not keep some, or most of your existing airframes on the 9503?
I like my 9503, and it will transfer forth, and back to my XP9303. Both for back-up, and if I chose to fly a PCM receiver. I varified this before I purchased my 9503 (Wife was poised to buy a 12X for my preasant).

I, aswell.
Then spending time reprograming all your models into your new 11X would be part of your "fix". Spending quality time.
Please accept my humour.

I do believe that you can transfer from a 9303 to a 9503 as they use the same processor. As the 11 uses a different processor and different protocols, then it isn't possible.

Well, when I got the 9503 to replace my 9303 I was told then too that one wouldn't
transfer to the other.
I guess you can only transfer from same to same with JR because I've now gone from a DX7 to a
9303 to a 9503 to an 11x and have been told No every time....

Sodbuster 1, I did my homework before ordering my 9503 2 yrs ago. A trusted modeller in eastern Canada confirmed they would transfer to each other. After receiving mine I can confirm it aswell. Like you I was not at ease about transferability until it was confirmed by Ned. If my 10X would transfer to a 12X, I would have been all over that. I love my 10X.

If the set uses the same CPU, then the memory map will almost be the same and so you can transfer most of the time. It's when you have different CPU's that you will not be able to cross transfer.
