Default equipment upgrade

I presently have a JR347 an a JR8103 on 72mhz. I would like to upgrade to 2.4ghz hopefully sticking to JR. The kicker is that i fly mode 1. What are my options?
Thanks

Does either one of your radios have modules in the back of them. Do they broadcast on PPM? If they do, a plug in 2.4 modue may be in your future. I dont believe that any of the modules are DSMX yet.

If you can use an existing radio, it does not matter if you are flying mode one. DSM2 and DSMX are the broadcast protocall.

With the 8103, you can purchase a Spektrum module and receiver. I still have two JR XP9303 transmitters. One has the Spektrum module and will work with any JR/Spektrum 2.4 receiver. It cannot transmit on DSMX, but all DSMX receivers are backwardly compatible with DSM2. I have never had a problem.

Most newer JR/Spektrum transmitters can be switched between Mode 1 and Mode 2 easily.

I'd look at the X9503 and the 11X if you're looking to upgrade your whole radio, not just a plug-in module.

That said, Spektrum has a new DX18 on the way. I fly a DX8 and like it so far!

The 12XMV was Modular, but has been Discontinued. The Spektrum module for the 12XMV is DSMX, but will not work in the XP8103 or the XP9303.

By the way, I have the DX8. I like it and use it with DSM2 and DSMX receivers. I plan to purchase the DX18 when it comes out. It should be about $800.
