I figure it has an internal fuse.... I bought the radio used and the guy had installed a lighted lcd in it and its been working fine up till last night it was on and just shut off.. I checked the battery and its still good, the backlight lcd still works its just the radio will not power on...

Maybe the added LED circuit added too much load. Is there a 5K resistor in series with the addedLED?

I am not aware of any fuses in these things. Looks to me like the battery power goes directly into the voltage regulator circuit w/o being fused. But that does not mean that they don't have a fusable link some place on the board, etc..

Sounds like it blew the voltage regulator. Time to send it home for Service.
