DX8 Software Version

RE: DX8 Software Version
On earlier versions it was not centered. It is something like "1.04" or "2.01" or currently "2.06"
We did release one beta version, and it has a "B" appended to a version number like that shown.
If you post a photo of your serial screen, we can tell you immediately, but I think it would be pretty obvious to you.

RE: DX8 Software Version
Thanks for the remind.True enough before the access to calibration after the serial screen there was no Next button down there and IIRC the version wasnt centered. Its been awhile.
Either way its down there on the bottom somewhere. Its the only number down there with the X.XX format so its kind of obvious. All good.

RE: DX8 Software Version
As a general observation: It seems like lately all these manufacturers could do a better job explaining things in the provided manuals instead of depending on forums, etc. to figure things out. Eh?

My Feedback: (34)
Sorry to bring up an old subject, but I have never 'updated' by DX8 tx. When I turn on my Tx, I get a 'US 247' in the lower right corner, then the screen goes to the main screen and no numbers appear, just 'DSMX' in the upper right corner.
Question: Do I need to update my software? If so, how.....

The US-247 is the modulation type. It says you're in US mode.
To check the version, go to the System menu (ie, hold roller down during power up). Scroll down to System Settings (next to last). Select NEXT until you see the version number on the display.
The current version is 3.00.
To download it, you need to have an account in the Community site (www.spektrumrc.com) and register the radio.

Glad to got that handled!
After you do the update, the radio might ask you a question when you select a new model. If you answer yes to let it run automatically, it will save you time. Be sure to check all your controls before takeoff after an update!

Hi all,
I have a question for ya. My dx8 is version 2.02.
I see the latest version is 3.0.
Do I really need to update it? I never have it any concern for the fact it works.
I don't have sail planes, nor do I intend to.
Would it be worth doing it, if all is good?

Go to the page as if you're going to download the update. Right under the big orange "UPDATE" button at the bottom are two links. One of them tells you all that is different, so you can decide if it's worth your while to update.

Yes. Register your radio as soon as you get it home from the store!
That will allow you to see the update(s) available by clicking on the "download updates" link (or something like that) to the right side of the screen.
The text will tell you some stuff about the update. Be sure to read it. Down below this is an orange UPDATE button which you can click to save the file to your SD card. Right below it are two more links for PDFs. Download and read both of them.
