There is an FCC regulation against changing the crystal in a transmitter except when performed by an authorized service center, so it would need to be sent in to have that done. You can freely change the modules in a system, but not the crystals in the modules.

My understanding is that a module is good for at least 5 channels either side of that to which they are tuned. I have several modules, center-tuned ten channels apart. Given that the crystals are removeable, you can pay to have them changed if you wish, but...... Danny, of course, has to present the legally-tuned answer. On the other hand, he may take issue with me.....
