Default Tm1000 with hobbywing rpm sensor

Hi all,

Please could you guys help me with wiring the above.

Will be using 3gx

I have ordered a tm1000

Hobbywing rpm sensor comes with futaba style connector

Already have a spektrum sat connection to rewire the futaba style connection.

Please could somebody explain how I wire it up I'm sure I saw somewhere I had to swap the black and red wire but can't find it now.

Many thanks,

Paul

Seeing how you are cutting one end off the Rxer extension, I guess it will work. The TM-1000 extention and the Rxer extention connectors are different on one end. But I am sure you got past recognizing that already.

On the TM-1000 extention there is a Black, a Red and an Orange wire. Black = Ground, Red = +VDC, Orange = Signal. I cut the connector off the TM-1000 Extention and installed a JR connector such that I connected the Black to Black, Red to Red and Orange to Orange. If a white wire is used on your sensor, that is your signal wire. Whatever connector you use, connect the Black to Balck, Red to Red and Signal to Signal.

By the way, to avoid a direct electical contact from the engine to the TM-1000, I use an optical sensor. It seems to work O.K and I still have electrical isolation between the engine and the TM-1000/Rxer combination. If you using an engine prone to emmiting Stray RF or just want to totally elimiate the involved risk, you may want to keep this option in the back of your mind.

When you have telemtry and a Powersafe Rxer, thereis a special binding work-a-round. What Rxer do you have? I attached the instructions, just in case you do have a Powersafe Rxer.

The instructions can be directly obtained from www.horizonhobby.com. Then I got them for my AR 9210by searching for the AR 9210 Powersafe Rxer. Under the AR 9210 "Maunals" section of the site, there is an addemdum. This is a fairly new addendum.

This is what it says:

Binding Telemetry with Power-Safe Receivers
Spektrum Power Safe receivers like the AR9100/ AR9110, AR12100/ AR12110
and the AR7100/ AR7110 require a special binding procedure when using
telemetry modules.
Step #1- Insert a bind plug in the bind port in the receiver.

Step #2- Insert the telemetry modules’ Data port lead into any un-used channel
in the receiver. (Note: If all channels are being used remove any servo lead from
the receiver to allow an open servo port to be accessed).

Step #3- Power the receiver through the EC3 connector. Note that all the
receivers (internal and remote) should be flashing indicating they are in bind
mode.

Step #4- Using a second battery, insert the battery plug into any un-used
channel in the receiver while pressing and holding the bind button on the side of
the telemetry module. This will place the telemetry module in bind mode.

Step #5- Make sure that the LED’s are flashing on all receivers and on the
telemetry module. Place the all channels (sticks and switches) on the transmitter
in the desired failsafe position. Now bind the transmitter to the system.

Step #6- Remove the second battery from the receiver, remove the bind plug
and move the telemetry module connector to the bind port to allow flight log data
to be displayed.

Note: Do not leave the secondary battery plugged in for more than a few minutes
as damage to the battery can occur.

That could be a bit different. I would call them and ask to talk with Dan Smith. He is the guy who worked with me on the Output Voltage problem I had that resulted in the bulletin on powersafes (i.e seeing 7.3 VDC when the spec says I should be seeing 5.9 VDC output to servos), and he is the one I sent the message to on the Binding problem I was having which apparently resulted in the addendum to the Rxers manual.

I found that I could get the bind w/o the procedure but I had to disconnect the TM-1000 and Preset bind the Rxer to get the Preset Failsafe settings in. Then, I bound with the TM-1000 connected to get the whole system bound. Also, the timing of how long I held down the Bind Button also has an impact on success. I have to time button release to right after the Power LEDs on the Txer flicker.

Your situation may be a bit different. Good Luck!

I think hes got it going ok. The TM is just stubborn to connect once in awhile.
