Default DX8 7.4 4000 mah Lipo battery question

Andy: Is it possible to use the DX8 transmitter battery (extra) 7.4 volt 4000 mah lipo battery as a receiver battery by connecting it to a voltage regulator? What are the issues that might arise from doing this?

Issues: Same as any other BEC system. Or guy high-voltage servos and then you don't need a regulator.

If the voltage gets low, the disconnect in the battery will open and you will crash.

I suggest using the right product for the job.

Have another question. When charging the 4000 mah lipo transmitter battery, how long will it normally take if the battery voltage reads 7.9 volts? Also, what should the voltage read when the transmitter/charging stops?

The voltage will read between 8.1 and 8.4V. You have plenty of juice if it's reading 7.9V - don't bother charging it yet.
