Default DX-9 1.03 Update

The 1.03 update is posted on the Spectrum Community site.
However the audio file still is 1.02
Is this proper to use, or not, and does it need to be loaded again,
after the 1.03 update is loaded and seems functional?

Firmware 1.03 and sound 1.02. It's my understanding that if you had sound 1.02 installed, you don't need to reinstall sound 1.02 after firmware update to 1.03.

Then the instructions might need a bit of tweaking, since they say to install the sound file after the firmware update.
It also would not be too hard to add the available software update rev to the first web page that update appears. Might save
some users time, etc

The text provides a link to the current version. Many of our customers are still updating from version 1.00.

Thanks for the suggestion.

When doing updates, there is always a question as to skipping an older update, or not.
Some updates, particularly firmware, are complete in themselves, others not.
Your remarks in another DX 18 thread indicate that on the DX-18, a user may need to load 1.04, then 1.04D
This begs for more detail in the update instructions when the update is dependent on previous updates. (Just say'in)

If you read the instructions for 1.04D, they are VERY clear about needing to install 1.04 first.

There is one update each for the DX18 and DX10t which had this requirement. For no other radio have we done this.

And both of those will be going away in a few weeks too

If there's only one update on the web, you don't have an option of going thru the others. Hence there should be no question.

[h=2]DX-9 1.04 Update[/h]Moving on, 1.04 update with 1.03 audio file just became available.
It's kind of funny that a new email was sent just a few days ago showing 1.03 update now being available.

Yup, the queue from earlier in the month is cleared out now. I explained in on RCG.

You'll be getting an e-mail "any day now" for 1.04 coming out. 1.04 was released yesterday morning along with the announcement on Facebook.

Andy,
Please confirm that DX9 1.04 update is only the Audio 1.03 file (no firmware update).
Thanks

Yes. The blue link you clicked on to see that takes you to the one and only place for downloading the current (and never older) versions.

Sound is independent of radio version. We have 4 sound-capable radios now (DX6, DX9, DX18G2, DX18T), and they all use the same sound version.

Andy: Probably the wrong forum, but when did the DX8 update to 3.01 come out? This is the first time an update has been posted on the Spektrum Community web site and I have not received an email that the update was there. Has email notifications stopped for the DX8?

It came out on Wednesday along with the DX9, DX10t, and DX18, and DX18QQ releases.

The e-mails usually lag behind the actual release. I think some of the other e-mails went out Friday. The DX8 e-mail will go out when it completes the process. I don't know when that will be.

Notification hasn't stopped. With 5 radio updates going out at the same time, it just takes a little for them all to wind through the process.
