JR Apex 7
Hi All,
I have an old JR Apex 7 channel radio that I am looking for the module pin out assignments so I can convert the radio over to 2.4. Looking at getting a couple of old timers into the air with my first digital radio. The conversion modules do not fit this old type radio.
Cheers

Hi, Found this as I have the same radio and am trying to use the, OrangeRX DSMX/DSM2 Compatible 2.4Ghz Transmitter Module (JR/Turnigy compatible), from HobbyKing. I modified the radio so that the 5 pins are now flat in the radio. What I'm not sure about is to bind with a receiver it must be an Orange product, I take it? Would a frsky receiver work? They say I need to put the radio in PPM mode, and I have no idea how to do that. I thought I knew what I was doing but alas have failed miserably.

It won't work with FrSKy receivers or the Orange receivers that are Futaba compatible.

Yes the RX must be an Orange product. frsky won't work. The radio is only a PPM mode TX and the signal is on pin 1, Positive is on pin 3, Neg is on pin 4, you will need to turn on the RX first with the bind plug in(led flashing in the RX) Then press and hold down the bind button on the TX and turn on the TX keep the bind button press until the led in the RX stay on solid, the release the bind button turn of the RX and then the TX and remove the bind plug on the RX. Then turn on as normal TX then RX the Rx will bind straight up.
