Programming Flaps on a DX7 with ar7000 reciever.
Please help! I read a post from 2010 on this with a 4 servo wing. It gave step by step instructions for setting up flaps. It said: RE: Spektrum DX7 Flap Programming 4 Servo Wing
Try This: Go to the Set-up mode (Hold down Scroll and Select keys while turning on)
2. Scroll to the Input Select screen
3. Set AUX#2 to INH, AUX#2 Trim to INH, Flap to System(should be default), Flap trim to INH,
This turns off AUX#2 channel from the lever
DX7 DUAL AILERONS AND DUAL FLAPS
4. Do not activate Flaperons. It must be OFF
Aileron Setup
1. Power off the TX and turn on. Go to normal
programming
2. Scroll to Pmix #6. Set Aileron as master and
AUX#2 as slave. Set mix levels at 100%
(This requires movement of the Aileron Stick)
3. Set the Sub trims on the aileron and aux#2 to
match each other.
5. Scroll to Travel Adjust and set the desired
Travel for the right aileron and left aileron
(AUX#2)
6. If the ailerons are backward..go the reverse
Switches and correct
Flap Setup
1. Scroll to Pmix #5. Set Aux#1(Flap) as master
And Gear as slave. Set the mix levels at 100%
(This requires flipping of the gear switch)
2. Scroll to Pmix#1. Set Gear to Master and Gear
To Slave. Set mix levels to –100% -100% (This
May require flipping of the Gear Switch)
This will inhbit the gear switch.
3. Set Sub trims on the Aux#1 (Flap) & Gear (Left
Flap) to match each other
4. Scroll to travel adjust and set 100% on Aux#1
And Gear.
5. Scroll to FLP SYS screen, Set the desired
Travel for each of the switch settings.
You can also set any elevator compensation.
Set Right Flap to Aux#1, Left Flap to Gear
The problem is I follow the instructions and the ailerons work fine and the flaps are on the 3 position switch but the gear switch is not inhibited and I cannot adjust the gear servo with subtrim or travel adjust. When I move the gear switch the flap connected to it moves. Can some one please help!!!

a couple of questions to make sure I'm on the right page... unfortunately I've only got DX8's and a DX18, recently sold my DX7S but I'm still familiar.
1) you're doing dual aileron servos and dual flap servos, but NO retracts and NO dual Elevator servos, right?
2) standard DX7 and not a DX7S?
only by looking at what you've described, it sounds like your flap setup step #2 didn't 'take' (mixing gear to gear) ..
THAT having been said, have a look at this one, it's nearly identical to how you've set up yours. this is one I know for certain does work,
the difference being which specific channels you're mixing, and which specific servos to plug in and where.

Hope that helps, please do keep us posted

Its been awhile since I had the DX7 (original) out. Ill pull it out and refresh my memory and see what might be going on. IIRC you need to have Switch setting On so the Mix is active all the time. Gear>Gear Rate -100,-100,
Sw On to disable Gear switch.

Well I can see one problem if indeed you are trying to make this work with Pmix 1?
This is an issue I ran into when I switched from Futaba to Spektrum and later JR; the mixes will only do certain things and in this case your guide specifies mix 5 and mix 6. IIRC only the last two mixes will give you mixing authority plus trim and one of those two has to be used if doing say a dual elevator servo setup. Using the wrong Pmix may be causing you problems....

Thanks for getting back to me! I am doing a 4 servo wing. 2 servos for ailerons and 2 for flaps. mix 6 is the aileron mix. Mix 5 is the flap mix. I was trying to use mix 1 to disable the gear switch gear-gear 100-100 sw on. Do you know of another way? This is my first time trying to set up flaps and I am a bit frustrated.
Thanks

Is it -100 and -100 or just -0 -0?
Can't remember as it's been too long for one of us FOG's lol
I know in the later model JR tx's, you can "null" a switch out but cannot remember how you kill a switch on the original DX7. IIRC you can null the gear switch by just adjusting it's travel limits to zero, no mix needed?
