Question dx7 question/spektrum rx

I'm new to the 2.4 world. Is it ok to put a short y-harness in the battery/data port, so I don't have to dig out the receiver to get my info with the flight log I'm going to use. Also what's the best position for the TX antenna? I've been told position it to the left or right, straight out, even at a 45 degree angle. I'm a little confused. I'm ready to go fly, but a little hesitant till I get this matter resolved.

Thank you very much TAZZZZ

Yes, absolutely.

Unless you're flying a plane a mile or two away, it doesn't matter.

Andy
