9303 Battery
I recently replaced the battery pack in my 9303 with an MPI 2200 NiMh, i believe they are Sanyo cells. Yesterday i connected the pack to a Hitec X4 charger at .1 amp. It immediately blew the fuse. Today after a trip to Radio Shack for a new fuse i am concerned to connect it to the X4 again in fear of the same reaction. I have connected it to the charger that came with the original system but that charger indicates it is for charging NiCd batteries. My question is can i use the charger that came with the transmitter without an issue knowing that for a different chemistry battery? Or, should i give the X4 another try? .1 amp is the lowest setting i can obtain on that charger, regardless .1 seems very low and i wouldn't never have thought it would have blown a fuse.

For charging purposes and voltage ratings, NiCD and NiMH can be considered the same. So yes, you can use the JR included charger for the new NiMH battery.
Oh, one other thought; the polarity on the charge plug for JR radios is opposite of what you might think. The center pin is negative not positive, you may have plugged the Hitec charger in with the polarity reversed if you used the radio's charge port.

It might be worth using the X4 on another battery that you have successfully charged previously just to confirm that the charger is responding as you would expect. Zeeb makes a very good point that may well explain the issue. If you have a volt meter check the polarity on the charging plug before connecting and ensure positive goes to positive when charging.

I thought it was a polarity issue at first too but the X4 senses polarity so i am still not sure what happened. What i have ended up doing, to be safe, is removing the battery. It will connect to a JST connector and then to the X4. It is a minor inconvenience but i only use the 9303 on two planes these days that do not get flown but a couple of times per year.
