Default JR 11 X charging

Hello, I have a JR 11x which I installed a 1500 9.9v lifepo battery. I decided to install the lifipo as they last a lot longer than the standard battery. It comes with a cable that plugs into the TX than its got a JR/Futaba cable and the balance cable. To charge the battery I have always disconnected it from the TX and charged it with a quality charger. My question is can I leave it plugged into the TX and charge it with a quality charger using the other JR/Futaba lead without disconnecting it from the TX. I will obviously still have the balance lead hooked up to my charger also. I have always been worried about leaving it hooked up as I'm not sure if it will damage the TX during charging.

That is exactly how I charge it.

Thank you for the reply Don. I will keep charging the way I have been. Better be safe and not change anything that has been working fine for me.

I would leave it connected. When the transmitter is turned off the battery is disconnected, so no issue with charging with the battery connected.
Now, here's a good reason not to disconnect the battery every time you charge. The little white plug that JR/Spektrum use for their transmitter battery connector is not designed to be repeatedly connected and disconnected. Even with my Futaba radios that use a servo connector on the transmitter battery, I don't do it.

HI Pete,
I do agree with you however I'm not willing to take the risk just in case in stuffs up my radio.
I have been running a life for a number of years but always disconnected it to charge.
Considering there are a number of people out there who run life batteries in there 11X I am surprised not more people have answered my question.
