Default Dx8 gen 1

I am just curious. My Tx has the latest firmwrae 3.01. Under the telemetry , there is option GPS.
I have read somewhere that dx8 does not support gps.
In that case why gps option in the meny ?

Thank you.

Because the DX8 v3.01 does support limited GPS functionality.

Andy, could you expand on the what the limits are? I think 3.01 does not support latitude and longitude, correct? And if so are there any other items that 3.01 does not support. Thanks!

Been a long time since I used the GPS on the DX8G1, so telling you what it can't do isn't gonna happen.

On the G2 radios it supports an alarm on distance, and the GPS speed and altitude can be spoken when the other sensors are not installed. I know the G1 isn't going to speak to you. Not sure on if the distance alarm works or not.
