I can't charge my new x378 radio
Hi Danny,
I just bought a JR 378 radio TX & RX today and when I got home trying to charge it with my supernova 250 charger I got error displayed on the charger. This usually means no wrong polarity or it's not connected properly. But it was connected properly since I use the same setup/plug to charge my order JR radios. When I measure the voltage throught the charger plug on the radio it shows 0 voltage except if I put my finger on the metal parts of the radio then the voltage on my multimeter goes up to aroung 5 volts. Strange. The radio seems to work though I haven't go through a complete setup.
Do I need a JR charger to charge X 378 (not likely). The only way to charge it now is my removing the battery and charge it seperately. Don't want to do this all the time.

RE: I can't charge my new x378 radio
Hi Danny,
I just found out that I can actually charge the battery. What happened was that I tried to discharge the battery before I charge it. I think the X378 doesn't allow me to discharge the battery through the charger plug. I always discharge all my nicad packs before I charge it again as recommended for nicad battery. I quess I won't have to discharge the x378 battery.

I know its not my column, but I can discharge, my new JR 8103 DT from my cord. I could also do it with my older JR 783. Maybe you couldn't discharge it because your battery was dead since it was a new batt. pack.

Guys,
I think you will find that there are differences between the regions. Some regions have diodes in the charging cct so that you cannot discharge via the transmitter, and obviously in others there isnt a diode.
All the JR sets are different depending upon the region ( US, AUS, UK, etc etc )
