Default High-channel count receiver shopping

Looking for a new receiver to go into a gasoline powered airplane.

Essential functions require at least four channels (A,E,R,T). Aileron and elevator requires four servos; could use "Y" harnesses here but would prefer dedicated channels so that brings it up to six channels.

Might like to add flaps - that's another two servos - so it's now either seven channels with a "Y" harness or eight w/o. I have plenty of 72 MHz equipment I could use but would like to use my DX9.

Looking at Spektrum receivers, I'm leery of features like AS3X and telemetry that may or may not be tailored to a specific kind of airplane and reviews stating an I-phone and cable are necessary to program said Rx to customize it to the particular airplane. All I want is a simple, basic 6- to (preferably) 8-channel receiver - is there anything available in 2019 that will work here?

Any of the receivers will work with your 9, you don't need to program them, only if you really want to tinker.

You can also just buy the bluetooth adapter for your phone is you want to tinker with AS3X in one of those receivers.

Your best bet if you don't want to is the AR8010T or AR9030T

Don't worry about telemetry that is an add on.
