Default Programming Digital Servos

Is there any reason that JR chooses not make programmable digital servos? Is it true that having programmable servos would actually reduce their resolution? Programming would seem to eliminate many of the setup problems that arise from the need for reversing, endpoint adjustments, throw matching, etc. Thanks.

Yes, there is a very good reason why JR does not use programmable servos. The programmable chips do not allow the resolution and accuracy of the chips used in JR servos. This increase in resolution can easily be seen when a long pointer is added to the arm, and simply move the trim. What you will see is that with a JR servo the movement will be very fine and precise. With other brand servos, and especially programmable servos, you will see 'jumpiness' and not as precise of movement. Instead of sacrificing accuracy and performance, JR chose to instead introduce the matchbox to allow the adjustments needed.
