Is the model momory's on the 662 a NVM, or will they be lost if I remove battery ?

There is a lithium memory battery that stores the settings. Removing the TX battery will have no effect on your model memories. The memory battery is good generally for 3-5 years. Most of the time they last longer, but it is a good idea to have them checked periodically.
