Default X388S Mode 3 using mixing

Danny,

I have a X388S and I want to transition over to Mode 3 (E&R: right stick, A&T : Left stick) without taking stuff apart. Can this be done with mixing and include mixing? I want to keep my flaperon abilities with the radio. I ask so that if I find I do not like it, I can go back to Mode 2 by just reverting to normal programming. Have you ever been poised with this question?

Thanks,

Jon

I'm sorry to say that I do not see a way to accomplish that. To change the modes, you would need to send the system in.

Sorry if this is too simple - but just plug the rudder servo into the aileron hole and visa versa.
That's how I get rudder on the right stick for my non-airleron small glider.

And open the back of the 388s and move the throttle spring to the other side - one screw only - that's easypeasy too.

If you want E&R right stick, A&T left stick, that's actually Mode 4.
Mode 3 is T&R right stick, A&E left stick.
If your radio is currently Mode 2 you only need a software change to get Mode 4.

In reply to Motobiman .........

You can also use your aileron stick to work the rudder on your glider by just mixing channels 2 - 4 at whatever percentage you want. I use a 70% mix. The rudder will then operate from both rudder and aileron sticks.
I use this when flying 3-channel power models with no ailerons (Vintage models). It means you can fly them like a full-house 4-channel. Use rudder stick for taxiing and to keep straight on take off, then aileron stick for normal manoeuvring in the air, just like it really had ailerons.

I agree it is very easy, first change the radio to mode one, when swap the servo cables of your rudder and ailerons at the receiver. But if you using flapperrons it will not work, also on some radios you can only get duel rates on the ailerons and elevator outputs.
