ABC&W is a filtering process in the receiver that allows it to use only clean signal. What radio system are you using? Do you have the modulation selected correctly in the transmitter?

I am using a JR 8103 with PPM modulation. Is that right? I also am on ch 41. Have other receivors that do work. Maby I just got a lemon at the spap meet.

Yes, if the 8103 is set to PPM that is correct. Does the receiver say 72 Mhz on the label? Do the channels of the crystals in the transmitter and receiver match? Is the crystal in the receiver in a grey plastic case?

The receiver is a 72MHz, the crystal is in a gray case and there are three dotts with the center dot blackened out. Says FM rx on it. The receiver antenna looks like it has never been unrolled. Seems like it should work but it doesn't. Should I just pitch it?

I see you mentioning channel 50 in your first post, apparently in reference to the receiver. In your second post, I see you mentioning channel 41, apparently in reference to the transmitter. If the transmitter is on 41, and the receiver is on 50, it ain't gonna work... you need a channel 41 receiver crystal. (See Danny's second post, where he asks you if the channels of the Tx and Rx match.)

I have a 8103 Transmitter on channel 41. Incerted a channel 41 crystal in the receivor and it did not work. Now I have a Hitec transmitter that can be set to a positive shift to work with JR or Airtronics and a spectra that can be set for channel 50 in the gray crystal holder that came with the receivor. This combination does not work. It won't work either way.

Well, in that case... I hope you didn't pay much for it. []

You can also send it in for service to see if it is cost effective to repair.
