Compatibility Question
Hello
Im using a 421 on my trainer with a Quattro as a buddy box and am wanting to upgrade because of the plane Im building (ultrastick). Im wanting to get a high end radio for myself (atleast 7 channel) without having to buy another radio for a buddy box. Is the 421 or the quattro compatible, as for as the trainer switch goes, with the high end radio's? Can I use a FM as a trainer with a PCM? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!!!!!!

RE: Compatibility Question
Either the 421 or the quattro could be used as a buddy box with any other JR system capable, which for currently available systems the only system that isn't capable is the 10X heli system. All other systems would work with the quattro or 421 in a buddy box set up. One important note which you may already be aware of, unless the master transmitter has the pilot link set up (10X air and 6102) both the master and slave systems must be capable of flying and set up for the model being flown independently. So if the plane requires mixing features that one of the systems is not capable of doing, the trainer set up will not work properly. Yes, you can use a PPM system as a slave with a PCM system, in fact generally it is required that the slave transmitter be set to PPM. For 7 channel and above systems, we have the 378, 8103, and 10X.
