ES 539 servos for 72" Katana?
Hi All,
Will the JR ES 539 servos (4.8kg) be suitable for the control surfaces on a 72" Katana? These servos have plastic gears.
If they would not be suitable, what should I be looking for?
Thanks for any feedback.

A nylon gear set should hold up ok in that size plane. For additional security you could install a metal geared servo, but nylon should work fine.

Hi Danny,
Thanks for your feedback on the nylon gears. Do you think that the 4.8kg will be sufficient torque?

If I have done the conversion right that would be around 66-67 oz in, if that is the case, the torque should be adequate for that size model.
