Default Installation of R.F. Filters

Danny,

Can you provide me with some criteria for the installation of JRPAO28 Snap Style R.F. Filters on long servo extension leads. I assume that these filters should be installed as close as possible to the receiver. How many times should the lead be wound through the filer? Can I wrap more than one lead through one filter?

Thanks in advance,

Al

Yes, you'll want to install them as close to the receiver as possible. You'll want to wrap an extension through 3 times, or as many times as possible. Generally there isn't room to run more than 1 lead through a filter. You'll need 1 for each lead.

Hi Danny,
Thanks for the info. Now another question. I am using JRPA135 heavy Duty Y Harness in one location and just cant get (3) wraps thru the JRPA 028 R F Filter because the legs are too short. Does JR have a different style filter that would need less length ? I suppose I could add another extension between the receiver and the Y Harness and locate the filter there but I hate adding another connector.
Thanks Again,
Al

The ring style is a little shorter that may or may not help in your case, it is part number JRPA029. You'll want to get as many windings through as possible. If you are not able to get 3, it will still help.
