Default Broken spring-

I have an older JR 6ch. and the spring broke that centers the gimbal, so the radio is in great shape but the right stick just flops around--- Is there any way to tell how much it would cost to get it looked at/fixed?

If it is feasible where could I send the TX?

Thanks!

Razor, I own a few Futaba radios but I think the JR gimbal assembly should not that different. It's quite easy to remove and install a new spring. Just need a sharp tweezer or long nose plier, and a little patience to get them hooked right ! Maybe an experienced club member can help you

Yes, you can send that in for service. The cost of repair I'm guessing shouldn't be over the cost of the spring, and a unit or 2 of labor which is $7.50 per unit, and shipping provided nothing else is wrong. Also while it is here, the output and tuning will be checked as well to be sure your system is in top condition. You can find information on sending the system in here along with a service and repair checklist that you can fill out to include with your system.

They will only contact you before the repair if you requested a quote in your letter with the system, or if the cost is over 50% of the replacement cost (not very likely in this case).

Default I am NOT happy-

I got my TX back with a bill for $104.56 [:@] 6 hours of labor and $45 in parts - If I had any idea how much it was going to cost I would never had sent it in! The service request form does not indicate that quotes are possible nor does it have an area for said request-

The TX worked perfectly except for the gimbal being loose- $100 + is a little crazy for what appeared to be a broken spring!!!!!!!!!!!!

How would you recommend I handle this? What is the replacement value of the TX? Seems like $104.56 is MORE than 50% of the replacement cost for just a TX especially an older 622!

What can you do for me? I am so mad I can hardly type right now---- Why did I bother to fill out the form and leave my info. if no one was going to even try to contact me?

I mean big difference between "Fix the broken spring" and :
Beauty nut, toggle switch
Case: front half
Gimbl ass.
T/R gimbal broken thus replaced and A/E gimbal broken replaced

Common sense would be to check with the customer before doing 6 hours of labor on an old radio and billing over $100-

Default RE: I am NOT happy-

Another quick note- I just visited my CC web-site and I am over my limit- yes, I am a poor newlywed, and the difference between what I thought would be around $35 to $104 put me over the top and is now costing me a $29 over-limit fee...

But the gimbal is fixed alright!

How about I send you back the radio and you give me just the cost of the most recent repair ($104.56) and you can have the TX?

Since it is less than 50% of the replacement value (apparently) it sounds like a good deal for you!

As it turns out, there was more than one gimbal broken, both gimbals were broken, as well as the front case half. This is the reason the repair was more expensive. The best thing I can say to do would be to give a call to one of our product support techs at 877-504-0233 and discuss this further.
