I live in an area that sometimes will get frequency interference on several channels. How far up or down can you go when changing crystals in the 8103 module and receiver without requiring re-tuning? I know that the modules are manufactured in a "low" and "high" range. Can you just stay within the respective ranges?

It is illegal for you to change the crystal in the transmitter module. You should send the module to a service center and have the frequency changed legally.

You can change the receiver crystal yourself.

Let's just say the question is hypothetical and leave legality out of it. There is nothing illegal about conducting research on product compatibility in such a situation.

The modules are not made on a high or low band, but rather tuned to the channel. To change the crystal in the module it is necessary to send the module in for tuning per FCC regulations. You can freely change the module in the TX, but not the crystal in the module.
